That album just fails to make any kind of impression on me.

The Good Life | Help Wanted Nights

This album was shredded by critics but it's actually a really great record, with incredible songwriting. I'm getting my copy of this signed by the lead singer on Saturday if it fucking kills me.

Big Ups - Before a Million Universes

they sound a lot like Slint.

now that that that is out of the way....this album is really really good....very reminiscent of early Unwound and....well Slint....but very much on its own....this fits perfectly with any other great mix of noise rock and post hardcore....within minutes this landed on my top ten for the year

My quickie impression of Space Machine doesn't place it anywhere near Spiderland. Is this a big break through compared to Space Machine, in your opinion?

I'm really enjoying the new dream theater album the astonishing. but I am mostly rediscovering classic albums at a moment with love's forever changes and the grateful dead and early Pink Floyd on my daily playlist

^I listened to The Astonishing twice, then realized it was hot trash. I praised it when it was released but it's not good.

I loved it start to finish. The album is pretty similar to Queens Of The Stone Age's album Songs For The Deaf. Unlike songs for the deaf it's less of a metal album. The music doesn't have unhinged metal songs. The album also feels a bit more engineered and not as raw. None of this takes away from the album. It never ceases and continues its onslaught amazing music start to finish. Love the album.
I remember loving the fuck out of this album when I first heard it. I may have to give it a re-listen later on today.

Decided to listen through the last decade of music. Currently 2013 has my full attention and those three albums in particular:

Alter Bridge - Fortress

My Bloody Valentine - M.B.V.

Kavinsky - Outrun
