One of the best albums I've ever heard.
Batlord give it a listen, kinda emo-ish but very prog/alt rock. Instrumentals are off the charts.

^ Fantastic album by one of my favourite bands. I feel like the emo tag probably scares some people away from it thinking it will just be another whiney, straight forward mid 2000's emo album, but it is soooo much more.

EvangelionLovr 05-09-2016 10:59 AM

Yeah I feel that emo, while a valid description, does give it a bad rep. I actually haven't listened to any other Brand New Albums because I am afraid that I'll be disappointed. It's that good.

Deja Entendu is almost as good imo. It's a little bit more on the emo side, and a little punk-ier at times too, but still carries that same sad, melancholic tone that Brand New do so well.

I've listened to a few songs on Deja actually. It's good, but it doesn't have that experimental progressive alternative rock sound of TDAG that I love so much.

Yeah, they never quite replicated that exact sound again, but I think it's for the best. Their sound continuously matured between each album, and I would love to see what they would be capable of with another release, although it's starting to look more and more like that may not come any time soon.

The Wild Light of the Moon by Fabio Orsi

ahh because who doesn't love these slow moving ambient records, especially ones with the stereotypical "natural meditation" sounds (waves crashing, birds chirping, etc etc) sprinkled in. I'm becoming a parody of myself I just know it.

This chick's voice (and lyrics) blow my fucking mind. Not to mention HudMo and OPN's seering electro production equals one of the best listens of the year.

I listened to it last night, and I'm still thinking about it this morning.
