I'll give it a shot.

Well, did you listen to Metal Machine Music all the way through? Just know that if you skipped one second of that album, you are entirely unqualified to voice your opinion on the record until then. Every. Single. Second. Also, if you don't post a video of yourself listening to every second of that album to prove it to us, we will only ridicule you as being a liar going off of an uninformed opinion. The logic in this paragraph is only about half as ridiculous as you are being right now.

I prefer Art Angels to Visions personally. They're not all that similar
Well I spoke on what I've listened to, and what I listened to failed to impress me enough to listen to the whole thing.

I think we both know there's a huge difference between MMM and an album with 14 unique tracks that most of which are completely unique within the context of the album

Trouble Salad - Rejsekammerat

Sure, this could be considered shameless self promotion, but if this album were made by someone else I'd still feel the same. It's amazing enough that I can wipe away the idea that I made it while listening, and see it as just some other incredible album I've come across. Awe inspiring arctic ambient soundscapes, chilling melodies, and an overwhelming feeling of tranquility throughout.

Forget it was made by me and download it

LOL SOMEONE hasn't listened to MMM all the way through. How you can you realistically say that there's a huge difference between the two when you literally do not know a single glib about what you are talking about?

So you're saying you do not grasp that the tracks on Art Angels vary far more than the tracks on MMM?

Or we can even turn to albums we both have certainly listened to the whole way through, hell even my own album "For Now"...it's nothing like an album with more traditional songwriting.

I haven't listened to that album yet so I wouldn't know. I've listened to all of Metal Machine Music, though, so my opinion of that album will always be superior to yours, regardless of what you think.

You realize I'm mocking you, yes? It wouldn't be the first time someone got up in arms because I made a post with the same terrible logic that they did.

Of course I realize that, and admittedly I'm backtracking a bit to clarify but I still stand by my main point. I believe that if someone absolutely despises the first 5 minutes of MMM then there's nothing on the rest of the album that will change their mind. However a 5 minute chunk of Art Angels is going to be quite a bit different from any other 5 minute chunk you pick because imo it has a ton of variety in sounds, song structures, and melodies. So the idea I presented about judging the whole album based on a short sample applies to some albums but not others.

20+ minutes is a fairly big sample though, which is how much of Art Angels I've listened to. My clause is I'm judging it on that basis. This is from someone who dug Visions.

I have no words for someone that "dug" Visions and can't even give the next album a fair, full listen-through. Guess you need more time to finish your 40th album of the year
