Fushitsusha - Fushitsusha (1989)
It's been one of my favourite albums for almost ten years now, but every once in a while it really hits me. Today was especially hard. I was sitting on a train, listening to it and suddenly I had goose bumps all over and tears in my eyes and I felt lifted towards some unimaginable heights. Keiji Haino is a magician.

The Megaphonic Thrift
Decay Decoy (2009) S/t (2012) Sun Stare Sound (2015) Just recently discovered this Noise Pop/Shoegaze band from my home city. Really solid stuff, although the production is generally a bit "clean" for my tastes (somewhat of an epidemic in Norwegian music lately, I feel), especially considering their influences. And yes, as many have noted, Decay Decoy does sound very much like a Sonic Youth album at times, but I feel they consistently let their own personality shine through, so it doesn't feel derivative. As for comparing the three, I guess I'll have to give each a few more listens before deciding upon which is my favorite. So yeah, really happy with this find, all things considered. |

The s/t had some pretty strong songs on the noisier side as far as I can remember but It's a bit hard for me to remember in great detail without some further listens still. (Will maybe edit to elaborate?) |

Can't say I'm big on Aphex Twin (I've tried), but Venetian Snares I've never heard of. I'll get on that.

I've tried his ambient stuff, his last record, Drukqs, and the record before that. None blew me away.
