Cocteau Twins - Garlands This album doesn't get a whole lot of good rep, but I have to say, despite its stylistic differences with their most revered material, this almost rivals Heaven or Las Vegas in terms of my own enjoyment. When it comes down to it, I think this is a really well done post-punk/gothic rock record. Last edited by GD; 09-24-2015 at 05:09 PM. |

Got your PM. Listened to about half of it before I got sleepy and had to go to bed. Was extremely intrigued by what I was hearing though, I think this is the kind of album I'll need to listen to a bunch

Mario Diaz de León - The Soul is the Arena This is some really stellar work that blends together chamber music and electronics. I'd be hard-pressed to come up with a precise point of reference for this sound, but if you're into experimental textural stuff, definitely check it out. I can't get enough of the flute and bass clarinet playing here.

Woolen Men - Temporary Monument (2015) Really digging this jangly punk rock album from Portland, OR. Reminds me of The Feelies and some 80s New Zealand and Australian stuff.
