That ****'s the best man, incredibly unique (unfortunately, since I wish more post punk was this crazy). They have a new album out, it's pretty sick too albeit way more accessible.

Frank Ocean - Channel Orange

Love this album. It's filled with just the right amount of rap and beats and memorable lyrics to make it a masterpiece. Highlights include 'Thinkin Bout You', 'Pink Matter', 'Lost', and 'Pyramids'.

The Black Keys - El Camino

My close friend recommended this album to me while I was at the record store. I had heard a few songs off it, and decided to buy it. Brilliant album, one of the band's best. Highlights include 'Gold on the Ceiling', 'Dead and Gone', 'Lonely Boy', and 'Little Black Submarines'.

The Clash - Combat Rock

One of, if not my favorite Clash album. The album has so many hits, as well as some underrated tracks. That last true Clash album. Highlights include 'Know Your Rights', 'Rock the Casbah', 'Should I Stay Or Should I Go', and 'Straight to Hell'

Bit of a blast from the past, but..

Vex Red - Start With A Strong and Persistent Desire

Vex Red are easily one of the best bands to have come out of the UK. This album is sensational, 13 years on, and I've been absolutely caning it the last few weeks, finding it very hard to listen to anything else. A very complex piece of work, and it sounds like it could have been recorded yesterday. It's aged so well. Under usual circumstances, if you told me to listen to a band that had merged metal and electronica, I'd probably tell you to get on yer bike, but these guys have pulled it off in a way which isn't cringe worthy or straight up garbage. It's ****ing amazing and one of my all time favourite records. Would recommend hugely.

Carly Rae Jepsen - Emotion (2015)

Six tracks in and this is simply fantastic. One slower track to add a bit of balance, but straight back into a funky pop tune. Love it. Keep it up Carly!

Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain (2003)

It's been awhile since I've listened to this album but it still remains my favorite thing DOOM has ever done. I don't think it's a flawless album or amazing from start to finish, but it never bores me. I also think it's one of DOOMs darkest albums both in terms of instrumentals and lyrical content. It also showcases DOOMs real talent with flow, instead of his usual rhyming around the beat rather than with it. Apparently there is a narrative about time travel but in all the times I've listened to the album I haven't been able to figure it out. Overall I think his Viktor Vaughn stuff gets a little overlooked because Madvillainy came out a year later, but I will forever hold this as his seminal work.

for me:

Really, really good traditional folk/bluegrass. If anyone's into the avett brothers, trampled by turtles or the like, I think you'll find this to be a staple as well.

La Femme - Psycho Tropical Berlin - A little psychedlic but it always comes in nicely and uses it to build rather than glaze it with sound. If I didn't know any better it would just be really good French Pop.

Thievery Corporation - Radio Retaliation - lots of styles brought in is what I like about TC

Frank Zappa - Zoot Allures - Pretty mellow as far as the little Zappa I've heard, Black Napkins is an awesome guitar track, The Torture Never Stops is pretty wild as well.

Zaz - Recto Verso - this just makes me happy, very upbeat and the music very tasteful, beautiful voice
