Anakrid - Rapture of the Deep Happened upon this album at a record store a few years back after reading a description that included the words "atmospheric," "power electronics," and "play this at the end of the party when you want everyone to leave." Got it for a steal as well with it only costing 4 dollars on vinyl, and the album isn't nearly as abrasive as I had expected with the description I had read, so I put it on the shelf for a while. I came back to it this week when I got my vinyl collection back from a friend I had lent it to, and this time around I think it's incredibly beautiful and haunting. Dark ambient fans should give this one a go and wank at it, especially if you like stuff like Kreng or Trouble Salad.

Jehu i learned from Frown and i really like the guitars in that album, Firewater i knew about but never gave them a serious listen until recently, they're better than i expected. They got a gypsy vibe going on, i dig that.

Reinvention once again. Moving away from her last album that went into a Cuban Jazz vibe, Ms Gardot has gone down the Funky Soul road with fantastic results. Fat Freddys Drop with female vocals basically which is sex on the ear canal. Just class really. Not enough hooks IMO but what an awesome band. An album that never got the recognition 20 years ago gets a deluxe edition with remixes and unreleased tracks. Somebody, somewhere cares about music. Very happy this has been released. Film score leftovers? Ridiculously good. Quite simply a legend. Members of Amebix AND Voivod? Imagine New Model Army meeting Killing Joke on a night out and recording tunes at 4 AM!

Well I'll be damned. Spotify said it was released this year, those lying bastards. I like Vermis better but that one's pretty great.
Best metal album of the year goes back to this bad boy:

The tagging of their stuck is pretty whacked out on Soulseek too.
Literature - Prose ザ•リズム (2014) Some pretty grand future-funk stuff in my opinion. Up beat, plenty of flavor and goes down like a charm.
