Undiscovered Moons of Saturn - Lost In Cosmos the competition may be tight, but this is my favorite epic space ambient/supernovacore/nebula drone album |

Alvvays - Alvvays (2014) Last night I made a playist on Spotify comprised of songs by artists in my Last.fm recommendations. This band, specifically the song 'Archie, Marry Me' really grabbed my attention. This album is ace too and at little over 30 minutes is short and to the point. It does well to satisfy my hunger for female-fronted indie pop. |
^yeah, I really dug Alvvays, too, when I listened to them a few months back.

Ramleh - Hole In the Heart Really really ****ing awesome and meditative drone/industrial/noise rock **** from Gary Mundy of Skullflower. I had only heard their power electronics work before this and I have to say that this is far better than their early work. |
^ I think Hole in the Heart is the only Ramleh ive heard but yeah its very good and cool
http://www.geometrikrecords.com/stat...sKinoWEB_1.jpg Kosmos Kino by Esplendor Geometrico hadn't heard of these guys before but damn this is excellent. this is just how I like my industrial, noisy and fuzzy. also its pretty damn catchy too |
I have a three volume comp called We Created It, Let's Take It Over by Ramleh and it's more oriented towards power electronics than drone. It's pretty great but Hole In the Heart is a direction I'm glad they took.
As far as Esplendor Geometrico, Kosmos is their best album. Prehistoric Sounds is really good too. I remember once me and a friend were driving his year old mom who's in her sixties to the store and we were playing Kosmos Kino. We didn't really censor our music much and just played whatever because she didn't mind about it, she's a burnt out old hippy. But much to our surprise she told us how much she loved it. I burnt her a few albums and now they're one of her favourite bands. It was weird dude. |
may have to check that out. Kind of interests me to see the differences.
And that's pretty awesome. Im surprised I hadn't heard of these guys previously as they are right up my ally. not sure I know anyone that would roadtrip with me while it was playing but who knows haha |
Actually just saw alvvays 2 nights ago in Vancouver. They're great and I've been listening to them a lot leading up to the show. The whole album is good, but I think next of kin has stuck with me most so far.
Been listening to the new sleater kinney track a lot too. So excited they're back! |
