http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/499b919cdb8...a6/1617752.jpg So I found out last night that Stevie's birthday was a few days ago, and I remembered that I've had these two albums (as well as a few other soul albums that I'll get around to listening to later this week) on my hard drive for two years, yet I never listened to them at all. To say that I regret this is an understatement. Talking Book is more consistently great IMO (I'll admit that I don't care for a couple of the tracks on Innervisions, but they'll probably grow on me when I listen to them again), but the first three tracks on Innervisions (along with Higher Ground) are incredible. |

Murmuure by Murmuure I think this is what being conscious during your own funeral would be like. A frightening yet peaceful experience |

William Shatner - Has Been A surprisingly good spoken word album where Shatner collaborates with several artists. Some rock based tracks, others more punky, some very jazzy, all in all a great mix of spoken word songs. |

He has 15 tracks and only about 4 decent ones that I would listen to on repeat. The rest of the album is throwaway garbage. http://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-conten...pe-450x450.jpg I love this mixtape so much. Anytime I am out and about. I throw it on and time just goes by so quickly. I don't even know a large majority of the artists on it but it's pretty damn good. |

Plaid - Reachy Prints (2014) First listen during my commute this morning. Very lush! :hphones: I can't say I like it better than their last one yet, but it definitely has a lighter quality to it, a bit more reminiscent of their classic albums Not For Threes, Rest Proof Clockwork, and Double Figure to an extent. Maybe more so their soundtrack work Tekkonkinkreet from 2006 and Heaven's Door from 2008, both of which I really enjoyed. Scintilli (2011) was really good and underrated by fans, and for me a return to good melodies after the difficult Spokes (2003), but it was also a little thick/heavy in a way. This is lighter and more summery. People were complaining about the length of the album before it even came out (40 minutes), but I believe that's a fine length (40 to 50 minutes being my preference). I did find that it ended too soon, I wasn't ready to be done with it. But I prefer that to an overlong album. This just makes me want to listen to it again very soon. As in later today. And it's rare I listen to an album more than once in a day. |
