Fantômas - Amenaza al Mundo I've known about this album for years but have been spinning it a lot recently. This is a collaboration between Mike Patton and Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle, Dave Lombardo of Slayer, and Buzz Osbourne of Melvins where the group makes some of the strangest metal you never heard. Patton's vocals are great on this album and he sticks to his notorious yet unique singing style (using the voice to its fullest capacity as an instrument) in this album. It can be a little tongue-in-cheek at points. Musically it's great too, very punky and heavy, with some noise and Middle Eastern influences added to the mix, among others. The songs are divided up into pages and frame count like a comic book. There are several short and intriguing tracks on this album that never fail to entertain. I think this might be my favourite album with Mike Patton (Trevor Dunn as well, but this is a very Patton heavy album), with Disco Volante as a close second. |

Sisyphus - Sisyphus (2014) I know that Freddie Gibbs album is burning up the charts and **** right now, but god damn this one is far more what I want from hip hop these days. |

This album destroys all!! Being the outspoken critic of hardcore metal genre that I am, I can't stand anything more intense than thrash metal. I'm already familiar with alternative metal and nu metal cause of System, but I always wanted something more intense than what SOAD gave me. Helmet and Meantime give me that cause it's post-metal, hardcore, AND alternative metal. This is easily the best album I've bought in a very, very long time. I can't find anything wrong with any of the songs. Ironhead is just a tad too hardcore, but it's still thoroughly enjoyable. Quote:

Love And Money - Strange Kind Of Love (1988) One of the greatest pop albums of the 80's, maybe of all time. It's a brilliant experience that sits squarely upon some mercurial junction between Tears For Fears, Level 42, Prefab Sprout and The Smiths, so give it a whirl if you love or even remotely enjoy any of those groups. :) |
