B. Dolan - The Failure (2008)

This is truly epic. Some of the most emotionally charged music I have heard in a while.

Mark under: spoken word/rap, with dark beats.

B. Dolan is a pretty underrated rapper, although sometimes his 2010 followup Fallen House, Sunken City only had a couple of really standout tracks.

The Wrens - The Meadowlands
I don't know why it has taken me so long to discover this album. Right up my alley. Great indie rock songs with emotional lyrics and vocals.

Really mellow I like all the weird keyboard tones he uses sounds like it's from a Super Nintendo game :3

V/A Amsterdam Beatclub: the Best Place to Go!Go!

The Beatclub celebrates it's 10th anniversary with the release of this double disc set featuring artists who I assume have all performed there. The types of music here includes surf instrumental, ska, swing, blues, rockabilly, garage, psych, power pop and jazz, among others. Favorite tracks: "Ford Mustang Blues" by Ricky & The Koters, "The Best Place to Go! Go!" by Julia P. & ABC All Stars (they're the only band with two tracks so maybe they're the house band) and "Elle n'aime qu'elle-meme" by Sheetah et les Weissmüller. The most veteran artist on the album is the Crazy World of Arthur Brown (didn't know they were still performing) and Brown now sounds uncannily similar to Tom Waits.

Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - Lick My Decals Off, Baby

This is such a great record. It doesn't top Trout Mask Replica, imo, but I think that if John French was on this album that it would be. If it had more exciting drums LMDOB would be just as astounding TMR, but since French wasn't on this record, it's slightly less astounding. Got this one on vinyl too, which makes it one of my trophies.

The Vintage Caravan Voyage

Icelandic trio takes on vintage hard rock/prog-metal and release a fine, fun album. Check out the trippy video for "Expand Your Mind".

Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
My friends and I are considering a festival where Electric Wizard are headlining and I am rediscovering this absolutely amazing album.
