Sky Ferreira - Night Time, My Time
Took me a while to come around, but man this album is great. Yes, Trollheart, feel free to consider this an indirect recommendation

Ray Barretto - Acid (1968) Despite the title and the visuals on the cover, this is not an album of psychedelic music. It's an album of Latin soul/jazz from drummer, conga player and percussionist Ray Barretto. One song (Teacher of Love) is a bit weak, compared with the rest of the album, but other than that it's a solid effort. The song "Deeper Shade of Soul" was covered by the Dutch band "Urban Dance Squad" and became a 1991 Billboard Hot 100 #21 hit for that group. |

Radio Zumbido - Los Ultimos Dias Del AM (2002) Hadn't heard this in a while, so I decided to give it a spin. The Solo debut album from Guatemalan Juan Carlos Barrios (Bohemia Suburbana guitarist.) A fine album of Latin music based loops, samples, field recordings, and studio recordings, seamlessly blended together with a mix of lo-fi & hi-fi throughout. Great stuff! |
