Dire Straits' debut is cool. Good songs and Knopfler's guitar tone is amazing

Built To Spill - Keep It Like A Secret

You know when you discover a band and you just enter that honeymoon phase where you can't stop listening? I have had these three albums for literally like two years and only listened to a few songs on shuffle, in the past week I think I have listened to each about twenty times. Possibly a perfect trilogy of albums. I think There's Nothing Wrong With Love is my favourite but 'Carry The Zero' from Keep It Like A Secret might just be one of the best songs I have ever heard.

And, have you heard Government Plates yet? If so, what did you think?

I was underwhelmed by No Love Deep Web personally, that's probably because The Money Store set the bar so high as opposed to there being anything necessarily wrong with the album itself. I remember Whammy being a top tune.

I like NLDW, but don't love it. Like you said, The Money Store is and probably always will be their crowning achievement. Personally, I think putting MC Ride's vocals and lyrics at the forefront of this album was a mistake. Though these things are a very important part of any Death Grips album, emphasizing his part of the group does make sloppy lyricism more damning to the work as a whole. This is ultimately where I think this album fails, as the instrumentals are as engaging as ever and I really like the album's mood.
As for Government Plates, I have not listened to it.

Syzygy A Glorious Disturbance (2012)

Symphonic prog rock, with definite influence from Yes & Spock's Beard. This is a live album, the first I've heard from the band. I like the musicianship & the songwriting, and even though it all sounds familiar it also sounds fresh. There's a deluxe edition with 2 dvds that I'm thinking of picking up. The more I hear the album the more I want to see the complete show.

This is the only album by them I have heard. I guess I should check out those other 2 because I've always liked this one decently enough. And you are right...Carry the Zero is an amazing song. Once it gets to the end, I basically stop whatever I am doing and focus completely on the song. It's such a release.

Ancient Melodies of the Future is the best Built to Spill album. Wrestle me.

I agree! A lot of the time when a song has a kind of long instrumental part at the end I get tired and skip it but with Carry The Zero it's one of the best parts, such a build up! Also still trying to figure out what the song is about, it's not obvious at all and I love it.

It's next on my list! I only have those three but plan full discography once I have absorbed them to the full.
