I've been totally lost in Icky Thump this last week, i think its a much much better record than In Rainbows.

Love the Stripes. Radiohead doesn't have much replay value for me and if I'm not playing close attention - all the songs could be one giant song with small changes in the style. I do like Radiohead though, I just have yet to let In Rainbows grow on me. However, I will say this: Any Stripes album v any Radiohead album would ultimately be a Stripes victory in my book. Can't really rock out to Radiohead, imo.

Hail to the theif took me a year and a half to get in to, and I was genuinely trying to get in to it, So i'll probabily be saying in about two years that In Rainbows is a better album, but not yet for me.

So you tried to give credit to the White Stripes and mention Elephant over all of their other work? This makes me think you haven't heard the other Stripes albums. Elephant is the second to last album -I, personally- would bring up when trying to credit them, even in an undercutting manner. Now I am merely assuming here, of course, since I don't know what you've listened to, what you appreciate etc, etc... but please, at least, go listen to De Stijl (if you haven't already) before you try to make Elephant the pinnacle of the Stripes' discography!
