The strokes actually predated the stripes but I would imagine a 5 year old to document that.
bloc party hot hot heat whirlwind heaty kaiser cheifs detriot cobras The von bondies EDIT: that whole thing came post stripes.

the vines , the hives, Burning Brides , the datsuns , soledad brothers , the catheters , the pattern , jet , yeah yeah yeahs , the hiss , the buff medways , Beachbuggy , D4. immortal lee county killers , the black keys
All of these bands either had column inches , major label deals or debut albums out in the wake of the white stripes success.

As you say different strokes etc. A lot of fans and critics alike love the track RECKONER from IN RAINBOWS. I think it is one of the weakest tracks on the album! I think i'm just plain odd really lol.

Sigh.
Pop-punk did nothing to get rid of PG. Dude Ranch was their first foray into pop-punk. That came out in like 1997. Those three years were the PG high water mark.

and do you realize that within a year of WBC's all the bands Urban mention errupted and PG evaporated?
What was the last PG band you remember that got signed?
