Norwegian post-rock bands one and only album, similar to other post-rock bands such as Mogwai with a Notwist thing going on.

I love this album so much, can't thank you enough for sharing it with me previously.

88. Simon Joyner "Skeleton Blues"

I feel bad comparing Simon Joyner to earlier Bright Eyes. since Simon Joyner was Conors biggest influence, but since early Bright Eyes took alot of elements from Joyners music it works. At times his voice reminds me of Dylan, it sounds nothing like Dylan, but in the way he sings its very dylanesque and the level of realness in which he delivers his lyrics.
Favorite Song: The Only Living Boy In Omaha

87. Joan of Arc "So Much Staying Alive and Loveless"

From the ashes of one of the most influential, if not most influential post-emo band Cap'n Jazz arose Joan Of Arc. Fronted by Tim Kinsella, who is the only consistent member of Joan Of Arc they create experimental music, its kind of hard to place because its all over the place and weird from the time signatures to the lyrics. I mean how many songwriters write lines like "We all thought it was great when a silly art student Hitler had to change a flat tire on that bedsheet in the breeze on the roof."? Very few. I think this probably the most important Kinsella band, even if its not the most popular and its certainly the most progressive.
Favorite Song: On a Bedsheet in the Breeze On the Roof

86. Sunset Rubdown "Shut Up I Am Dreaming"

Sunset Rubdown is better than Wolf Parade, now that i've got that out of the way. I think this is a well crafted fuzzy album that shows how variable Krug Is, from the irishness of They Took a Vote and Said No to the slow and beautiful Us Ones in Between.
Favorite Song: Shut Up I Am Dreaming of Places Where Lovers Have Wings

85. The New Pornographers "Mass Romantic"

This is my favorite New Pornographers album, I don't know why but i've never liked Twin Cinema as much though its considered by most people to be their best but I like this one better. I really don't need to say much about them.

84. Architecture In Helsinki "In Case We Die"

A spontaneous, poppy and at the same time kind of dark pop album. Architecture In Helsinki have an interesting sound, they're most comparable to i'd say Of Montreal but thats a very loose comparison since Of Montreal can be all over the map and even at their most similar, its not too similar. In Case We Die is a weird album, it can be so happy and melancholy at the same time.
Favorite Song: Do The Whirlwind
MySpace.com - Architecture in Helsinki - The Sphinx, EG - Melodramatic Popular Song / Ghettotech / Jungle - www.myspace.com/aihmusic

83. Laura "Radio Swan Is Down"

A very heavy album and very ambient. Laura manage to create songs that just flow and crash, the sound they create is consuming and oddly cold, they share more in common with post-rock bands like 65daysofstatic then Explosions in the Sky.
Favorite Song: I Hope
MySpace.com - laura - currently located in melbourne - Alternative / Rock / Experimental - www.myspace.com/lauranoise

82. Gregory And The Hawk "The Boats and Birds "EP"

This song always give me a high school girl with an acoustic guitar vibe on the acoustic tracks like, Boats & Birds and A Wish. Her voice sounds cute even while singing painfully direct lyrics like "I wish to feel smaller under your hands / Though you seem satisfied as you slip mine down your pants / And I'm thinking about how you care half as much for me / While you lift up my shirt after asking politely."
Favorite song: A Wish

81. The Decemberists "Castways And Cutouts"

Pirate folk band the Decemberists (thats what genre they are as of now)'s debut is my favorite by them. They're pretty popular now, being sold at starbucks and stuff so I don't need to talk much about this I guess.
Favorite Song: Odalisque
MySpace.com - The Decemberists - PORTLAND, US - Folk Rock / Indie - www.myspace.com/thedecemberists

Laura is amazing.

I'm too fickle to do a list like this.

When I first heard about them I was apprehensive to check them out. I was told they were two eighteen year olds who were the hardcore version of radiohead. Upon listening I was shocked that it was good, a very nice blend of modern post-hardcore, pop and electronic. Though the vocals are obviously similar to Yorke its not in the "My name is Matt Bellamy, i'm a faggot" way.

Really cool band, very diverse album. A Day in the Life Of A Poolshark is the standout track for me.

On topic: You, You're A History In Rust is about the only post rock album that has ever held my attention right till the end of it.
