As much as I hate The Beatles, I have to point out that although John Lennon was a talented musician, Kurt Cobain was not.

I'm not sure committing suicide would be considered a violent death, either.

I agree that it's tough to compare Kurt Cobain to John Lennon, especially from a musical skill standpoint.

I disagree that Hole could not have made it without the name recognition of Nirvana/Cobain. I covered several Hole concerts in their heyday for a newspaper and magazine in CT, and the shows were all great. The songs were good too, from both a lyrical and vocal perspective. I'll give you that they will not likely stand the test of time, like Nirvana or the Beatles, but they were good at the time.

untallented?!?WTF no offence to nirvana fans but Courtney Is way more tallented than Kurt AND david combined,And she is by no way yoko.She has better music.She taught herself to play gutair,kurt was taught by someone.See more tallent.Also hole in my opinion is better than nirvana,courtney has the energy kurt couldnt have.the snarl,the speed,the yell,All more energetic

For the record, Kurt Cobain is lefted handed. He was given a right handed guitar, and he turned it upside down and practised for hours on end.

EDIT: Even if Courtney was self taught and Kurt was taught by a professional teacher, I'm sure the more technical accomplished guitarist would be the one who had professional teachings.

Hadn't both Courtney and Yoko already established themselves in their respecive fields?Beyond that I don't see where this really can go.
