Classical? Pretentious?! Whaat? I think Classical is the one genre that people can't really "hate". I mean, I've never heard someone think it to be pretentious. IFFFF they thought it to be far superior to any other genre and talked your ear off about how great it is and such then maybe. It's more about the person really.

Smooth Jazz is a crowd pleaser as well. I couldn't imagine putting it on and someone feeling as uncomfortable as, say, playing Nargaroth for your conservative aunt Sharon.

Nah. Not people who just listen to what they like instead of parading their opinions around. That doesn't really account for any of us though.

I do hate those very much.

I dislike just about anyone who thinks that their genre clinging community and subculture has a better understanding of music than everyone else.

As a prog fan I tried socializing with other prog fans, only to realise that most of them are just as arrogant and snobby as indie fans, metal fans, punk fans, jazz fans, classical fans and so on.
