Last.fm "Open Mind Index"/Genre Breakdown
Cool little thing I found on someone's Last.fm page:
Last FM Open Mind Index There's a cool pie chart too. (I like pictures) For me: Quote:

I don't have enough plays, since I've only been using it for a month.

Whoa, that pop chunk is massive. I should've been able to predict that... |
What's your overall? Starving is closeminded.

Yeah, couldn't be bothered to copy and paste and then edit the lot to make it pretty. :p:

This is pretty cool, but kind of biased as it doesn't do too well for people who are open minded within a genre - it works more on a first tier basis (i.e. rock, jazz, hip-hop, classical). That first tier problem isn't so bad with metal since the subgenres are clearly defined and people are only too happy to tag a band by its subgenre... but it's a problem with some types of rock since most people would tag QOTSA as rock rather than stoner rock, or RHCP as rock rather than funk rock etc. So my 17.29% in rock should be split up more IMO.
Also, last.fm doesn't record a lot of the jazz/classical I listen to, since it's in flac format, so the OMI would be higher still. http://s217122409.online.de/musickum...Seltzer100.png http://s217122409.online.de/musickum...Seltzer100.png |
