I haven't heard too many bands, that came out before them that they sound like, then again, I could just not have heard said bands. Still, it's personal favorite albums, I'm just having a bit of fun with it.

hmm, I disagree, but I don't think i'm going to get anywhere arguing with you, but I shall try. I have only been able to find one way I could explain the poplularity of this album:
People trust critics far too much, especially the Pitchfork ones, and for some reason every lame Indie critic masturbates to this album. I mean I guess if you listen to radio crap all the time this album is truly groundbreaking, but if you have an idea of all the great music out there, this album is hardly noteworthy. let me clarify as well, I do enjoy Pavement, they however are not the most unique band that has come around, but they are better than the Arcade Fire.
