newbie basics
I'm searching for words that wont offend, but the bottom line is I gag whenever I hear what passes for music today. I've resolved to find a way to play the music I like in my own house without earphones. Neither do I want to mortgage my house — a basic contrivance that will provide sound for an unsophisticated ear will do the trick.
Lets say I want to listen to Benny Goodman or Bunny Berrigan, what do I buy? What do I play it on? I love that funky stuff they play in the swamps in Louisiana, you know with those little accordion squeeze box things. Is that stuff recorded? On what, if it is? I'd really love some input, but I don't want to know about MP3s, a dollar a song, and anything that requires sticking something in my ear. I liked the way it was all on one machine when I was a kid. Any help out there? |

I think reading this post has just caused my IQ to plummet through the floor.
I would move it to the appropriate forum if I knew which forum would be the most appropriate. Answers on a postcard

I address myself to Skid Mark: Yes, indeed my computer does have speakers — however, I would favor a solution that wouldn't rely on them if possible.
As for "Urban Hatemonger," may I observe sir, there isn't any room for your I.Q. to plummet. Maybe you should divine a way to elevate it. |

Back when I was a kid, you had to walk 39 miles to the record store in your bare feet in the snow, and when you got the record home, you had to broadcast it through a coffee can as a speaker
you damn whippersnappers
