Awww, I missed out on the original votes to get down to a final 5. I've gone for Funeral out of that lot, though.

I'm listening to Funeral right now.
Just to see what the fuss is about.
The only other album I know little about in this final poll is Slanted and Enchanted.

Arcade Fire? Am I impressed?

Not really...it's not providing me with anything I've not heard before.

It's not worthy of being alongside the likes of Are You Experienced, The Smiths or VU & Nico...IMO.

I think the big thing with Arcade Fire is the energy that comes across when you listen to Funeral. The tunes are good, of course, but there's something extra. I think so, anyway. I would...

I am right there with you. I love VU and HENDRIX, but as far as a complete album goes... I think Funeral is a better composition. For me I love most every song on each of HENDRIX albums, but as whole albums I have never got that same 'energy' for lack of a better word.

Granted, this is a first listen. Even so I'm not feeling this "energy".
For a debut album it seems musically accomplished enough, but it lacks the obvious impact I'd expect from a contender for best debut album ever.
It certainly doesn't compare to a whole list of albums I could conjure up off the top of my head that failed to make the final poll.

I'm struggling to choose between the three choices I mentioned earlier.
