So basically choose a n00b to convert to the ways of good music! I'm up for adoption as well.

Oooh, Proggy's up for adoption. I think I'll take you since I probably don't listen to many bands that you like and vice versa. I'll pm you a few albums I think you should listen to if that's cool.

But yeah, I like this idea, if anyone else wants to be my noob, then just say so, I'll be cool with it.

Oh, I listen to a bunch of stuff you probably like. Maybe a I'll give you a few fathers day gifts.

then nobody did it right. I coached my newbie and what bands he should bring up and what bands are considered shit here.

It was mainly a joke with members. Not saying it was your fault.

^From what I read, everyone thought it was a good idea but I dont think anyone really executed it right. The point is to PM your newb or your mentor like crazy for advice and pointers and actually follow it through. I really dont see this thread turning out any different. I dont think anyone has the time or attention to really make it work.

I wouldn't mind hearing some good death and doom. Maybe some...really good black metal.

I never got that impression from your thread, I assumed we were to teach the noobs rules of etiquette for the forum and such.

But if you're going to raise cane over it then just tell a mod.

But yeah, if anyone is willing to get into more Indie, Folk and Post Emo then let me know, I'm willing to take on more than one noob.

if matious is considered a newbie, i'm confused what defines a newbie. Someone elaborate please.

A newbie is generally someone who hasn't been at a place for X amount of time, so Matious is kind of a newbie since he only joined in like January or December. I wouldn't consider Matious a newbie, he has several posts and is a mod and isn't annoying, so yeah, not a newbie.

But since this about being exposed to new types of music, then it's up in the air, if you want to consider yourself a newbie in this case then you can.


And, Firefox accepts newbie as an actual word...... I just thought that was neat.

Hey there. I guess I'm a newb, seeing as I listen to a very limited amount of music (****ing school with its anti-file sharing programs...) At any rate I'd like to explore more indie, rock, psychobilly, rockabilly (not sure if anyone listens to any of those to genres though), as well as electronic, trance and a little of everything in between.

It's called Irony. I do like a lot of shít, but I am into the odd gem. Matious check out my ROOTS MANUVA comp in the Lespaul/Jackhammer thread. You may well like it.

i'll adopt somebody, but i'll probably get bored of their crappy music tastes pretty quickly and abandon them in a dark alley way if they don't show a willingness to accept the music I throw at them.

I would stick with Crowquill. He'll be a much better adopter than i'd be.
