Default Across the Universe - beatles movie

Saw it on Saturday, and it was REALLY cool. If you are a big fan of the Beatles, or the whole era of the 60's then this movie will take you back (or for us younger people.. take you there). Its basically a movie that uses characters and persona's of Beatles characters from there songs (Jude, Prudence, Lucy, Mr. Kite , etc), and the songs themselves to kind of direct this movie with an original plot. There is characters that also portray Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Timothy Leary, Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters, among others. I really enjoyed it and recommend it to old fogies and spring chickens alike.

My brother actually sent me a message asking me if I'd seen it... he said it was supposed to be really good and trippy so I'm downloading it right now... it's 44% finished. Plus, doesn't it have Eddie Izzard? He's the ****. Definitely looking forward to watching it.

^ 1000th post... neat. Ya there is some cameos too, like Bono plays the Ken Kesey character and sings 'I am the Walrus' while drinking Electric Kool-Aid at an Acid Test party.

Its only limited release right now, unforunately. And it's not in Detroit. I'm looking very forward to it's full release though. I have been for like a month. It looks amazing.

I heard some people...giving it negative reviews but I'm not quite sure why.....

I want to see it but I'm too lazy to drive 15mins to see it. So I'll wait til full release.

ya i dont get the negative reviews.... i imagine those were people who either are not big fans of the beatles, or they dont like the fact that the songs are actually performed by non beatles.
