The cover to Daydream Nation isn't a photo, it's a drawing.

Srsly? I always thought it was a photo. I'm so much less impressed with it.

I really like this Incubus cover, simple yet beautiful.

Back when the lp was king, the art was waaayyyy cooler. Now very few bands do anything really exciting. Excepting Tool, and Sigur Ros, who's packaging is nearly as cool as the music inside.
my fav. is the pop-up cartoon of the band on the inside of the first issue 'Stand Up' by Jethro Tull.
Did you know? With a magnifying glass, you can find pics of the Stones in the garden at the bottom of the cover of Sgt. Pepper? The Beatles make a return appearance later that year hidden in the cover of Satanic mag.

Carcass-Symphonies Of Sickness

That's the back cover and I'm pretty sure they are real cadavers.

Daydream Nation is really good.

I'm bad at coming up these kinds of things, but a couple I can think of off the top of my head are:

Tori Amos: Boys For Pele
PJ Harvey: Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea
Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Revisited
Marilyn Manson: Holy Wood
Tom Petty: Highway Companion

I've always really liked Bryter Layter's cover. Maybe because it sums up music for me, i don't know.

Anton Corbijn, the director of the movie Control, shot the U2 Joshua Album photos and took many pictures of the Sex Pistols and Joy Division before they reformed as New Order.
