Fave Thin Lizzy trax: 'Waiting For An Alibi', 'Do Anything You Want To', 'Jailbreak'. They're all great, even that swishy keyboard one. *proceeds to rock out most vigorously*

Jackhammer, I have to say, Hawkwind is pretty nasty. They might be completely out of their minds on 3/4 of their recordings but they've got a lot of talent. I'm listening to Master of the Universe right now (from the Space Rituals album) and it's blowing me away. Absolutely stunning.

I may do some 'Introductory' comps for noobs and keep it as British bands and maybe Scott can do some for Canadian/American bands.

So Im thinking: The Smiths, New Order, The Cure, Joy Division, Sabbath etc. Any thoughts or reccos?

Will try to do tonight, if not definitely ready for tomorrow.

yea, I could do some north american bands for sure. I'll try and do some legit canadian bands/artists first as there are only so many that I like.

NEW ORDER

From the ashes of Joy Division arose New Order. While keeping certain musical elements of JD: Sumners scratchy guitar, Hooky's iconic bass lines, they also added sequencers, drum loops and a keyboard player- Gillian Gilbert. Throughout their long career the band have always been caught between Sumners studio band classic pop sound and Hooky's live rock leanings. This has caused plenty of friction throughout their career and the band took a hiatus in the 90's only to reform and release 'Get Ready' and 'Waiting For The Sirens Call' before Hooky left for good.

Here is a mix with a few of their classics (NOT Blue Monday!) and others not so known. I have tried to get a balance between their opposing styles and I just happened to include my all time fave NO track 'Sunrise' (if the frantic beat and excellent guitar work don't move you nowt will!) and also 'Regret' which is one of the best pure pop songs of the last 20 years. Enjoy!

1. The Perfect Kiss
2. We All Stand
3. Regret
4. Sunrise (personal favourite)
5. Chosen Time
6. Elegia (sublime instrumental)
7. Fine Time
8. Your Silent Face
9. Sooner Than You Think
10.The Him
11.Ecstasy
12.Shellshock
13.Vanishing Point
14.Touched By The Hand Of God.

Appreciated, although they released an album not too long ago (2005 i think) which wasn't called Get Ready so they're not broken up yet i think!
