THIN LIZZY

OK they are not that unknown but I was just listening to them and realised that it was a ten track comp I had made years ago and it works perfect here. Thin Lizzy were famous for their twin guitar sound but more important was main man Phil Lynott's ear for melody and his wistful lyrics. One of rock's most influential bands and indeed timeless bands. Refreshingly free of bombast and pretension. Thin Lizzy were just a great hard working, hard living Rock band.

Tracklisting:

1. Jailbreak
2. Don't Believe A Word
3. Waiting For An Alibi
4. Cold Sweat
5. Out In The Fields (Gary Moore and Phil Lynott)
6. Parisienne Walkways (Gary Moore and Phil Lynott)
7. Bad Reputation
8. Killer On The Loose
9. Chinatown
10. Do Anything You Want To

I'll nab that too, i only have Live and Dangerous. S'alright, but i want a real taste of the band not just a live show.

Any Hip-Hop comps would be appreciated too

If anyone wants me to re-upload any of my old compilations I'll do that as well.

The mighty Hawkwind. Purveyors of the best zoned out space rock schizz for the last 30+ years. Dave Brock (guitar/vocals) is the ever constant and the writer of many of their best tunes. Perennial festival favourites as well as in house bong background composers. Hawkwind play the same music today as they did in 1971 and I love them for it. Despite using a largely Sci-Fi base for their lyrical content (Michael Moorcock has appeared on many albums) they still remain utterly out of fashion. The aforementioned Moorcock as well as Lemmy (Motorhead) and Ginger Baker (Cream) have passed through their ranks over their impressively long career.

Original? No! Musically astounding? No! Lyrically groundbreaking? No! Musically influential? No! Honest? Yes! Hawkwind are a great representation of music at an organic level. They jam, smoke some ganja then press record.

1. You Should'nt Do That
2. Wastelands Of Sleep
3. City Of Lagoons
4. Hassan I Sahba
5. Solitary Mind Games
6. Zarozinia
7. Waiting For Tomorrow
8. Dust Of Time
9. Psychedelic Warlords (Disappear In Smoke)

OOOOO... "Original? No! Musically astounding? No! Lyrically groundbreaking? No! Musically influential? No! Honest? Yes!"

Awww, you're just being a fanboy. Regardless, they look interesting, might have to try the up as soon as I'm finished downloading stuff right now. I've heard of Hawkwind, but nothing past a passing reference. Thanks!

i ****ing love the Thin Lizzy 10-track, I wasn't expecting much from classic rock radio staples but Phil Lynott was a frickin genius. And Hawkwind now, I only have In Search of Space (CD) and Warriors On The Edge of Time (vinyl - I liked the sleeve)... I'm excited.
eeeeeee!!!

The Roots

The Roots are a super cool hip hop group that have used all kinds of beats and gone down just about all paths in the genre. One of few hip hop groups with an actual drummer. Im sure most of you have seen Quest Love around with other things. Anyways, good beats, diversity, and all around great music. I've got a good assortment of their work, so if you dont like a particular song or two, make sure you finish the compilation to hear the other stuff. enjoy.

1.Long Time
2.It Just Dont Stop
3.The Seeds
4.Dynamite!
5.Stay Cool (Personal Favourite)
6.Double Trouble
7.The Next Movement
8.You Got Me
