Default The Best Female Lead Singer

Who is the best female lead singer?

Do you prefer the hardcore slurred speech of Hole's Courtney Love
Or the beautiful vocals and unique lyrics of Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon

Either way there are tons of them. Which one is the best. Is she famous? What band? And on a scale of 1-10 how hot is she?

I hate how every thread about female singers has to discuss how hot the vocalist is.

Tori Amos is always at the top of my list, closely followed by PJ Harvey.

mmmmm, I'd like to be the meat in that sandwhich.

Didn't you know? That's what women are for.

Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth. I find her voice very unique for some reason.

Agreed. Tracey Thorn (Everything But The Girl) YouTube - EBTG(Everything But The Girl) - Rollercoaster(acoustic live)
Liz Fraser (Cocteau Twins) YouTube - This Mortal Coil - Song to the Siren "Cocteau Twins" are not two of the best lookers, but they have the voices of angels. My all time favourite vocalist is Maire Brennan from the Gaelic band Clannad, her voice is a gift from heaven YouTube - Clannad - Theme from "Harry's Game".

I also really rate:
The wilson sisters from Heart especially their 70's output.
