You mean a narrow minded hour of radio? I like a lot of those artists, but I would be so random in my genre choices; that I would probably put listeners off!

what radio station would go from playing prog, to rap, to punk, to gothic metal?
that wouldn't make sense. i'd pick a genre and stick to it. plus, if i'm listening to rap, i don't want a folk song to come on after it. when you get in a mood you stick with it. even if i liked every song on the playlist, but they were all from completely different genres, i wouldn't get into it.

John Peel did this for nearly 40 years and was highly respected for incorporating many genres into his shows. I understend your logic 100%, but that is exactly why I rarely listen to the radio. I have been asked a few times to do DJ slots at local clubs, but I know I would drop something so out of sync with the night I would get booed!

I just think if you have one hour and that's it, then I would try and get as much great unknown music as possible decent airplay.

Then I'd play Nirvana for 30 minutes and close by screaming about the state of the music industry while someone behind me played a sinking-ship-style piece on violin that was transformed over time into an abrasive romp over which I'd pretend I was Lou Reed. Then I'd be dragged away and the station would go back to playing Avril Lavigne, which would be ok with me.

IF I had an hours slot I would totally do some story based music thing. Awesome.

I'll have to come back for this, I can't decide if I'd have a really wide range or if I'd just plug my favourite Bowie songs for an hour.
