The Unforgettable Fire and Achtung Baby! are great albums and who cares if people don't like Bono? I think Jello Biafara is a knob but that doesn't stop people listening to his music.

That comment was actually in jest, to Duga's comment about people hating U2 and how somebody always seems to be slagging them off on here on almost every page.
But since you ask, I dislike the songs, Bono's singing, the heavy emphasis on political agenda and the fanfare that surrounded the band back in the 1980s. Here in the UK, they were the rock band that most music listeners seemingly thought were hip to like and therefore jumped on the U2 bandwagon. For the record, I don't hate the band just dislike them. |

Overrated: Cap N Jazz, as a band synonymous with the emo genre and a name that always seems to draw much acclaim. I do not see how they are so great.
In my opinion, the best work was American Football for most of the Cap N Jazz guys. Their albums have no particular structure and their musical style is rather messy and not organized. Underrated: Brand New. I understand that the majority here know and love them, and they aren't exactly an act short of exposure. What I don't understand is how these guys are not massive. They have an appeal that could surely rival that of bands such as Coldplay and Greenday, whilst creating better music than both bands. They create music that could really catch on with casual listeners without neglecting their fanbase. I can't see how anybody could like Coldplay's brand of 'alt.rock' and not Brand News. |

Ok, that's another thing I think shouldn't be allowed in this thread. If you scroll through here I'm sure you'll see that sentiment repeated over and over. Specific artists only, please. I'll even take the usual "Oh, that Justin Bieber is so overrated and looks like a lesbian". I know you are new, so I just want you to know this wasn't just sparked by you. Discussion worthy posts have just been at a minimum recently. So I don't look like a big hypocrite, I'll throw one in there. I may have even mentioned it before, but I can't remember. INXS. 2 good songs. Michael Hutchence was a Jim Morrison wannabe.
