whoa wtf? The only one I would agree with being overrated is Coldplay

that list just seems like you took a list of artists from Pitchfork and decided to post them to be all edgy.

I knew someone would say something like that, but I don't really care. I won't accept something is good just because a someone says it is. I've no doubt liked some things Pitchfork has recommended but not others. I look at many different opinions on the internet not just a few.

And then if I named somebody few people have heard of people would call me a hipster lol. I'm confident with what I like and don't like, it has to please me for me to like it.

I wouldn't make too much of it; each artist on there is popular to the point where there's bound to be people who claim them to be overrated, regardless of whether or not they fit the accepted definition of the word. Once an artist reaches a special amount of critical/fan acclaim, there's bound to be at least one person who thinks they're overrated. That person usually uses reasoning that has nothing to do with the band's musical output, nor does it have to do with their popular reception. Whatashame.

You should't let yourself be affected by critics, whether they laud an album or bash it. Christgau is so unpredictable, he's like a high school teacher with those damn letter grades.

I've listened to both and haven't really liked them. So my opinions are based on what I hear.

I don't have a prejudice against any site, Pitchfork or whatever. I just look through lists (whether Pitchfork or a few hundred other people) and see what I like. And what is an accepted definition of overrated for you? My definition is something which rates quite high on alot of albums lists but which I don't like.

What does it have to do with then?

I guess Coldplay and Kanye West are overrated, but the rest of the list is just... I don't know. The Tallest Man on Earth? Overrated? Really? I mean, MGMT, Vampire Weekend, Animal Collective, and TV on the Radio are popular, but they're not overrated.

Tallest Man on Earth seems quite popular on some places I have been. I don't know if it is popular here or not.

In your opinion those others aren't overrated, I obviously disagree.
