So much about why I like them is because of nostalgic value. My mom's the biggest BR fan you can find, so I listened to them a ton growing up.

I don't know if Sleep is really underrated. Not overrated, either. Great band indeed, though.

Overrated - King Crimson. Don't get me wrong, the band is near flawless, and one of my favorites. I just never understood how they're seeming unconditionally treated like they're head, and shoulders above the dozens, and dozens of equally brilliant prog bands at the time.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

^!

And they are by no means flawless IMHO. Some of their stuff is among the best prog known to man but some of it is hardly music at all, but all in all they are the one band that the seasoned near-sighted (literally) progsters always make sure to have at hand when showing off their elitism.

That's what bothers me about King Crimson. Albeit I disagree with the hardly music at all statement, there a ****loads of hardcore prog people who will flat out dismiss anything that does everything King Crimson does as unfocused, or something.

Again, not their fault, they are a monumental band, just not as monumental in comparison to very comparable bands.

I think she's overrated simply for the fact 'Just Dance' and 'Bad Romance' are horrifically poor songs.

I feel that Rory Gallagher, Bert Jansch, Leadbelly, Simon Finn, The Modern Lovers, Wire, and Henry Cow don't get nearly as much attention as they deserve. I won't say anything is overrated because I think that if a band is skilled enough then it can stand on its own without excessive amounts of hype. Maybe that comment contradicts my "underrated" list, but eh...
