The more I work my way through Killing Joke's discography the more I realize how underrated they are. On a forum where one of the most popular genres is post-punk I am a little surprised (and disappointed) that they aren't talked about more often. I mean they came out at the EXACT same time as the likes of Joy Division, The Fall, PiL, etc. yet I've only heard a few of the older members (in age not join date) talking about them.

What the fuck?

^Oh you're right about that. I mean, they were/are definitely underrated in my listening habits, unintentionally though. I've always listened to those other three bands you mentioned way more and Killing Joke always got neglected somehow. I have to renew my interest in them, haven't heard them in ages.

Ouch.
You probably might have missed out on some dylan songs that are musically just brilliant.
Have a go at Blind Willie Mctell, One more cup of Coffee and Simple Twist of Fate.
I really don't give a **** about Lyrics, unless they're really bad. And I love the music Dylan makes.

Believe you me, Dylan is one of the selected few that I've actually tried to get into several times, but he just doesn't cut it for me.

Haha, still, check the songs I mentioned.
And listen to the music. Not to his voice, try to catch the melody.
He's really a brilliant musician to me.

Same. I tried to do the same with Janis Joplin, but her singing is just too terrible...

Dylan certainly is a brilliant musician, so he deserves listeners who appreciate his works. I'll stick to Tyrannosaurus Rex before the abbreviation.

^

I think he is saying he recognizes his talent, it is just not his cup of tea. I can see how people might feel that way. A lot of people, actually. Every time I listen to Dylan I think to myself that it is a good thing I love people with unique/interesting voices, otherwise I would be asking myself how the hell he got so huge.

Probably has something to do with his statements and the time he started making music.
I must say I prefer the late 60's to late 70's Dylan.
After that he got all gospelly and religious.
A big exception is probably his 1997 album 'Time out of Mind', which is actually really good.
