I'll admit he's a LITTLE bit overrated (after all, he's only released 1 1/2 albums not counting covers and live) but he is really amazing.

Overrated: AC/DC

I`ve listened to Jeff Buckley`s material a number of times over the years and on each occasion could never see the fuss. I think had he not died people wouldn`t be making such as fuss.

I`d also agree with AC/DC despite the fact I really like the Bon Scott era. Their post Bon Scott era has been much of the same for like 30 years now. I suppose people love them for their guaranteed sound and Brian Johnson`s gravelly yelp.

They're a Tortoise side project. I posted about them earlier.
They're due a bit more love here.
Nope, I haven't heard them. I had a look there though and found a link to one of their albums, downloading it now and I'll check it out over the next couple of days.

Overated:

The Shins
Belle & Sebastian

Music that goes nowhere but not even in an atmospheric/self obsessed slant that I could maybe go with. Just that annoying boring twang of guitars that sounds far too wistful for it's own good.

I consider Kid A to be one of my favorite albums, yet you really can't defend Radiohead all that much when it comes to this. Their music is good, but 'overrated' stems from how people react to it, and not the music. Some of the things that a great deal of critics/journalists/fans have said about Radiohead in the past 10-15 years are just grossly disproportionate to the truth. If it were just a few people, I wouldn't think of them as overrated, but it happens ALLLLL the time for them. It's a shame; it really clouds up their music.

Kid A is great, but alot of their other less sonically oritented work seems to be a whole lot of wallowing. I don't get why some people regard each of their albums as a masterpiece.

Underrated; a LOT of pop divas, especially Britney.

It's weird how sometimes a whole post can be completely invalidated because of what's written at the end of it.
