haha yes it's very disturbingly cute at first especially the girl bands the boy bands go for that "Cool" look rather than the cute one (although the members have to be cute)

i kinda respect the fact that they cut through the bull**** and admit the groups are manufactured

the american industry manufacture artist as well but ofc they have to firmly deny for the artist to have some artistic cred but truth is most times somebody else wrote their lyrics and a producer made their beat so at the end like 90% of it is manufactured by their record company anyway

I feel a need to address the Radiohead fanbase discussion.

I love the first half of OK Computer (it tails off after Fitter Happier for me), I love Kid Amnesiac, I REALLY love Hail To The Thief. I like In Rainbows but I don't get the heavy adoration of it, I think all the rest of the output of the 2000's is better, esp. HTTT. I really haven't paid attention to the albums since IR. I feel IR and The Bends (the production of which really grates my ears, although like IR I like most of the songs, esp. High & Dry) could be considered overrated.

However, if there's an annoying Thom-Yorke-Is-God-don't-you-dare-blaspheme element to their fanbase, it is not and never has been me, or for that matter anyone I've ever met.

Slipknot fans, on the other hand...

The Bends is their masterwork imo.

The production of that album is awful, just a screechy knife-in-the-ear treble that keeps me from ever playing that album. Maybe I'd like it better if they remastered it. Maybe they did? Idk

I think Kid A is their masterwork, the first album that to me at least struck me as a grand artwork rather than another album.
The Bends is though the album I find most personally enjoyable.
That probably stems from liking for conventional music and not really being too big into experimental music.

Overrated: Dream Theater(don't really like them)
The Ramones(I do like them though)
The Germs(also like these)
Radiohead(Also like them, but these are REEEEALLY overrated)
I like the bends the most, I've listened to all of their albums.

Just realised The Cruel Sea barely registers on this site.

What's up with that :p

When I hear "The Cruel Sea", I think of a book by Nicholas Monsarrat.

I think Joe Strummer, Johnny Otis, Rufus Thomas, Shakin' Stevens, Redd Kross, Robert Gordon, and Dave Edmunds are all really underrated.
