The fact that people put My Chemical Romance as overrated is actually kind of crazy to me. I doubt they've taken the time to listen to a lot of their stuff. Ray Toro may is an incredible guitarist, his range of capabilities is pretty impressive. I think people listen to three songs by them and give them a reputation. Listen to their albums in order and it's actually pretty impressive.

Overrated - Every band I've ever hated
Underrated - Every band I've ever liked

based off of that thread it's mixed results. Some people love it while others hate it but if you look at music reviews from other sites like album reviews you'll see that's not the general case. It's much more loved than the people in that thread make it out to be.

I'd say the Arctic Monkeys were vastly overrated if anything. They just happened to blow up over here at the right time where the media and the 'indie scene' were crying out for new poster stars. They came at a time where most 90's bands were defunct and those that remained were far from their best.
They got pushed to the moon short after their debut and were being billed as the next big thing pretty much off the bat. They've headlined festivals and had sold out arena tours, for a band who are average musically as well as doing nothing truly original or unique with their songwriting, their elevated position in most people and publications minds is probably unjust. |

Don't say another Goddamn word. Up until now, I've been polite. If you say ANYTHING else - ONE word - I will kill myself.
