I'd have to agree, he's not bad per-se just incredibly mediocre and forgettable.

US,
How can you especially dislike Bruce Springsteen. He is a unique talent. I am not a fantic of his but I understand his songs are very meaningful. Maybe musically it might be so average. But his lyrics is very powerful and unique.

Unique? You're kidding. His voice, love songs, and folk struggles in life aren't unique, nor are they powerful.

Really, average poetry.

Listen to The Doors.

His songs and lyrics mean zilch to me, I'd sooner listen to John Cougar.

Listen to The Doors.
The Doors seem like a weird band to contrast Springsteen with. It's really two completely different moods and quite different styles.

I'm not a Springsteen super-fan but I do think he's had some occasional moments of greatness in his career, Nebraska being the real standout album. If you've never given that album a listen, I recommend doing so before discounting him.

i would agree with you 100%

a) i don't think you could really compare The Doors or Jim Morrison at all with Bruce Springsteen....very different times and styles....and in my opinion both have their places

b) i'm not the biggest Springsteen freak either....but i have a couple of his hits which produce nostalgic feelings when i hear them....specifically Glory Days and Dancing in the Dark....but Nebraska is an incredible album and really brings something different to the plate.....he also wrote a song about Reno .....(it involves having sex with a whore)

I have to give that album another listen before really commenting.

The Doors comparison is directed towards poetic ability mostly.

I wouldn't consider Springsteen much of a poet, but he's a good storyteller. Honestly, I wouldn't consider Morrison much of a poet either, his lyrics are definitely my least favorite thing about The Doors.

Ah Nebraska always a challenging listen.

We must be from a different planet, I usually think of Jim Morrison as the best lyricist in rock. For the simple reason I tend to remember his lyrics more than any other artist I listen to, they always bring a smile to my face and he just sung them so well.
