Your talk as if Jill Scott is Elvis Presly..... NONE of her albums are on the best selling albums list of all time and she doesnt sale millions and millions of albums.
Well shit if Elvis is the benchmark for mainstream popularity, what hope has anybody other than the Beatles or the Stones got?

She is NOT massively popular. LOL The biased on this forum is hilarious.
I didn't say she was the best selling artist of all time. I just said she was extremely popular, which she is. And, yes, she has sold millions of albums. Don't believe me? Look it up.

So has Queen and Marvin Gaye.

James Brown hasnt won any but their not underrated overall as far as impact and influence.

The industry hail them as one of the greatest..... there not calling Jack White the greatest which is the difference. (He isnt by any means one of the greatet..... but I think his other contributions go un notice in a industry filled with mediocrity.)

Your greatly exaggerating her popularity.... she isnt a pop star by any means.

That was an extreme comparision I made but I only made it because that poster was implying Jill Scott was EXTREMELY popular on a pop star level and she isnt a pop star.

I see that sarcasm detection is not in your skill set.

I'm not exaggerating at all. I said she's sold millions of albums and she has. I said she's won multiple grammies and she has.

No you were not being sarcastic you was trying to make a point but I dont see why you would compare a legendary band in this conversation about Jack White.

Janszoon how many albums has Jill Scott sold can you give a number?

You can stop saying multiple grammys because I just stated she has 3 and that is very small compared to other mediocre artists who have alot more like Beyonce with 16 and Alicia with 14 ****in grammys.

None of that means she is massively popular. Artists who are massively popular are artists like Madonna or Michael Jackson..............not Jill Scott who isnt even a pop star or close to that level of popularity.

You have access to the internet apparently, look it up yourself. She's a multi-platinum selling artist, that means she's sold multiple millions of albums. If you want an exact number, go do the math.

Most musicians in the world will receive zero Grammies. Winning three is a lot. You know who else "only" won three Grammies? Elvis.

Once again, I never said that she was one of the best selling artist of all time like Madonna or Michael Jackson or Elvis. I simply said that she is very popular, and she is.

Be interested to know how you would judge a band like The Velvet Underground.
A band associated with one of the leading artists of the 20th Century in Andy Warhol, 2 extremely critically acclaimed & influential musicians of the past 40 years in Lou Reed & John Cale, a band who's sound influenced thousands of bands and yet won no grammys & sold hardly any records while they were together.

Saying that she is MASSIVELY popular IS implying that. And no she isnt. Besides R&B black stations Jill Scott isnt playing on any mainstream stations out side of that. She hardly gets airplay as it is on R&B stations unless she has an album out.

You also insisted she was a POP star which she isnt... What mainstream stations have you heard Jill Scott play on? What clubs have you heard Jill Scotts music at? Whens the last time Jill has performed on MTV? Im just asking since you insisted she was MASSIVELY popular.
