He is not popular or criticially acclaimed as a SOLO artist.....
I've just checked out his solo career, it just consists of one album and a couple of singles!!!

You can't include collaborations and appearances as a solo career.

How is it not good reasoning? The White Stripes were a two person band in which the other member was constantly thought of as just kind of along for the ride.

What are you talking about? His recent solo album debuted at number one.

lol I am not insisting that he had a big solo career and I wasnt even referring to that when I listed him as underrated. I was talking about his TALENTS. I just insisted if he heard a Jack White song on the radio since he implied he was so critically acclaimed and so popular.

One major song? On what planet? They were fucking huge less than a decade ago.

When you say his talents. I guess you mean his song-writing ability and guitar playing correct?

If this is the case I've always thought of Jack White as one of the most acclaimed song writers of his generation. As a guitarist he's ranked at no.70 on Rolling Stone's greatest 100 guitarists list, whatever some people feel about Rolling Stone, it still shows that he's acclaimed.

Jill Scotts album debut at number one as well and didnt even get a grammy nomination. Criticially acclaim by the music industry not with how many people brought the album

Jill Scott is another good example of someone who is very popular and critically acclaimed as well. What's your point?

Never up until the last few months.

That's because there's never been a JACK WHITE song been released as a solo record before that. Which is what I have been trying to point out throughout this thread to you.

So gushing reviews by magazines & websites don't count and only grammys do?

Yes.

I don't particularly care for Rolling Stones because they are very biased but I guess you have a point. I was mostly speaking of like grammy's, award shows etc. He never gets acknowledge for any contributions or talents. They always recognize the mainstream artists. His contributions are mostly probably appreciated in the realm of artists his worked with or other guitar players.

No she isnt..... Her last album went to number one and received airplay on R&B stations but she didnt receive ANY grammy nominations or awards for it. She doesnt win alot of awards or receive mainstream airplay.
