no need to go into merits - they're both great party music not for something you listen to intently and try to over-analyse their music |

I don't really over-analyse when listening to their music. It's both just kinda "eh" sounding. Just giving reasons why I don't like "party music". :P

Oh, and while I agree that it's weird Blur was pitted against Oasis, it's because Oasis blows... Not the other way around. Blur was/is amazing.

The Flaming Lips, over the top production? They're multi-layered but I wouldn't say they're over the top. Psychedelic more than anything. I don't know about America but they hardly get any attention here.

Since when are Gossip overrated? They never get any attention at all.
Also, I agree about Prince. I can't believe he's sold any record at all, to be honest. I've never understood why people liked his music.

And what in the world is so under-rate about Dire Straits? Weird Al made a parody of one of their songs, Money for Nothing->Beverly Hillbillies. It pretty much tells you a band made the big times if Wierd Al is going to turn one of thier songs into a parody. And that is like 1,000,000 times better than being on the cover of Rolling Stones and by the way Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits made it on the cover anyway, it pretty much shows that RS and mainstream critics was giving them recognition and not ignoring them which would make them under-rated.
