Reading this, I instantly get a visual of really bitter old curmudgeons with extremely narrow and/or ****ty taste in music who make sweeping assumptions about everything that came out after 1990.

I saw a Behind the Music it was only in the studio that producer add to the original tapes to gear it for a Rock audience. If you don't like his music that one thing but I think that is unfair to dismiss him and susequently his band because he had some jammin musicians he played with.

The thing is that I hate a lot of pop. The Beatles? Eh, they're OK I guess, but I find them another overrated band and outdated (yes I went there). At least I can respect them for laying the roots for rock music, and granted, they have a couple good songs, but then there's the matter of ABBA and the Bee Gees. ABBA is sickeningly sweet and happy and they seemed to have their heads in the clouds all the time, and I just don't like that kind of extremely happy feelgood music. I can be very short about the Bee Gees; they have this disco feel in some of their songs (prime example is Stayin' Alive) and I hate disco.

My Morning Jacket. Not sure if anyone on MB likes them, or even knows about them, but around Louisville they are THE BEST BAND EVAR to many people. Personally, I think that they are a band that plays super boring, super safe, super unoriginal indie rock. They are okay, but they're really not great. Or good, even. Way, way, way overrated.
