I think he was being sarcastic, judging by the reference to 2012. But I think Run-D.M.C. also is overrated - the material after Raising Hell is not good. At least the Beastie Boys kept trying to grow musically, albeit in a way that grates on my ears.

...and you chose to concern yourself with the opinion of people you already recognize as idiots, why?
Where you post like another Patton fan, have you checked out Fantomas or Tomahawk at all? I know you said you liked Peeping Tom, I thought it was kind of crap but whatever. The first two Tomahawk discs retain a lot of the straight ahead rock intensity that a lot of FNM fans felt was missing from the various side projects. Totally worth checking out, especially if you think FNM was underrated. |

Look at the artists who have brought out dope albums this year alone; El-P, Death Grips, Killer Mike, Ab-Soul and Odd Future, all of these albums either have better production, or better rapping or both more so than any BB or DMC record I've heard. Not to mention that Nas, Aesop Rock, Big Boi and Andre 3000 are all set to release new albums later this year. New School ftw. |

I agree regarding Run-DMC, who have always bored me, but not on Beastie Boys. They aren't my favourite, but they certainly stack up in terms of innovation and production, but probably not MC'ing to be fair (depending who the comparison is with).

Not a fan of either, as Goofle said, I find them to be boring. Maybe I'm alone on the BB, but **** it, I'm sticking with my opinion. |
