Was actually a friend of the family who suggested it, we were playing guitar hero at the time and got into it.

Overrated - Foo Fighters (they have some pretty decent songs, but they just don't really do anything for me.)

Underrated - Okkervil River, My Morning Jacket

Faith No More is fairly underrated, especially for pioneering most of todays music. They were way ahead of their time. King for a Day and Album of the Year are most definitely underrated albums.

Mr. Bungle S/T is probably my favorite "metal"-ish album. I went through a period where I was obsessed.

I wouldn't say nobody. :-p Plenty of idiots on youtube. Though I've had people on there telling me Linkin Park didn't rip-off NIN, even though their newest song shows they still are 'til this day, imo.

I'd also say their(FNM) influence reaches maybe a little further than just nu-metal. Maybe not quite inventing other genres outside of nu-metal, though I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't think they are highly underrated, I know there are tons of fans that respect them and know what they've done for music, but I just don't think they are as celebrated and credited as much as I think they should be.

Mr. Bungle was pretty cool, but I never quite got into it as much. Much, much more experimental, that's for sure. I liked Peeping Tom quite a bit. There are even talks of a new Peeping Tom album. That would be cool.

Beastie Boys? Too soon? Seriously, maybe the music was creative, but in my opinion, the only catchy songs are two of the hits from the first album.

^Yeah, Beastie Boys and Run-DMC are vastly over-rated. Don't stand up to anything produced in 2012.
