There were bands called The Charlatans & Suede in the U.S. before the 2 English bands took those names , In both cases the UK bands were referred to as Charlatans UK & Suede London in the U.S so as not to confuse them with the American bands. The rest of the world they got to keep the original name.

It's not about booking gigs. It's about the creative and personal connections that come with naming your band something. If someone was using the same name as my band that'd I'd been using for six years I'd be a bit bothered as well.
I don't know, that may be just me. |
