brandon boyd has some of the best vocals in his era. also very noteworthy vocals belong to eddie veder.

Agreed on Boyd, his vocals on Fungus Amongus was very Mike Patton-ish, but over time his vocals have gotten more original. A very underrated singer overall.

I wouldn't call Vedder a great vocalist though, but he does his own thing which you gotta respect.

Whenever I sing along to Pearl Jam I immitate his voice, which usually causes my grandmother to look at me like I'm retarded.

just because john lennon has an opinion about elvis doesnt mean it makes his music better. he (elvis) was a pop icon who didnt write a lot of his own music. im glad that he inspired john lennon, but thats about it.

leave the critics to their critiquing and the singers to their singing.... they already get to be musically talented and get the super hot chicks, leave us with some kind of dignity.

I don't see how critics opinions on music is any more valuable than the opinions of actual musicians.

^ its not always. but unless its their own music i would say as a whole critiques opinions are more valuable. you wouldn't argue that a football player is better at coaching then the coach himself... even though the players are the ones who play the sport; would you?

I was just saying, Elvis DID kind of start everything. Even though all he did was steal the black-man's blues. Then-again, that is pretty much the root of ALL modern music. Elvis was THE **** in his time, and I think his music (in perspective to all other pop music at that time) was pretty good. Maybe not his 70's stuff, but definitly his younger years. Most of all Elvis was...COOL.
Back then he was anyway. I would have listened to him. There are not many men who still captivate people 25 years after their death. Elvis kicked down the doors for bands you like to be able to play the music they do. There is something to be said about that.

I'd say top ten because of his influence and "first to doness" (couldnt think of the word)

i dont mean critiques in the sense of the occupation only... i consider us all to be critiques
