I was prepping for my review of Matious' radio station. But he said he wasn't going to do mine.

Yeah, I listened to mine with an alternate account. It might give you a few I don't really listen to much at all, too. Oh well. |

I hope mine doesen't play Converge, Thrice and all that other "scenester" stuff my brother put on my iTunes. I don't want people here thinking I'm cool of all of a sudden.
Even for us nerds, reputation is important. Last edited by boo boo; 07-26-2007 at 11:34 PM. |

My sister, while I was away, put some pop artist on my itunes and listened to it while I was away. Then it scrobbled onto my last.fm. I was hoping no one would notice it...and I guess no one did.

Alright since I see everyone else double posting I guess I will to bump the thread:
The Starving Artless: Mass Movement of the Moth – Ous We Are - Terrible intro. - Progressed well and I loved the synth. - Vocals were a bit annoying. - Love the dark feel to the guitar riffs. - End of the song is the most annoying thing I have ever heard. At The Drive-In - Ebroglio - Hey, this songs familiar, oh yeah I have it. - I love drums in this song. - I like how Cedric’s voice blends perfectly with the music. As I Lay Dying – 94 Hours - I hate this song, though I admit I used to like it, but I didn’t know a thing about music back then. - The song isn’t complex/original at all and the guy’s vocals suck. - Way too generic of a song for me. - Is this a live version? City of Caterpillar – F***ing Hero - The song sounds too generic to me. - Honestly the guitar wasn’t that special and the drums weren’t either. - The vocalist shouldn’t be singing/screaming. - The guitar towards the end had a cool riff. Saetia – Venus and Bacchus - The beginning is cool and atmospheric. - The guitar riffs were very catchy. - Honestly I may get some more music these guys. I need to get fill my head with more knowledge of the screamo genre anyways. Envy – Distress of Ignorance - Intro is cool and does a nice job of leading up to the vocals. - His voice isn’t that great and his screams sound generic. - What language is he speaking? - Never mind it is Japanese. The Blood Brothers – Pea**** Skeleton with Crooked Feathers - I have heard these guys before and the vocals are extremely annoying, but that isn’t a good reason to hate a song. - The song isn’t that bad. - The slow parts have to be the best parts of the song. - I didn’t like the repetitiveness of all the chorus parts. Cap’n Jazz – Take on Me - I have heard these guys before and they weren’t that bad. - Vocals suck though. - I know these guys are original and I know they were one of the influential emo bands so I can’t say this is generic. - I may get a CD or two of these guys. Converge – Fault and Failure - They aren’t that bad. - Love that sweep he does on the guitar. - The percussion was cool too. - He has generic vocals though. The Number Twelve Looks Like You – Texas Dolly - I have never really liked these guys. They have a couple of tracks that are okay, but they aren’t anything special. - Guitar was annoying in the beginning, but was tolerable. - They are definitely technical, but not original IMO. I Would Set Myself on Fire for You – Three - Beginning sounds so much like GYBE that it is annoying. - When the song starts to pick up it actually gets quite good. - Epic, Epic song. The song structure reminds me of CTTS, but the instruments used make it much more atmospheric. - I may get one of their albums. Bear VS. Shark – What a Horrible Night for a Curse - Boring and the music (excluding the voice) sounds like Explosions in the Sky - Vocals aren’t that bad. - Next to AILD this may be the worst thing I have heard on here. Fear Before the March of Flames – Dog Sized Bird - Cool and mysterious intro. - Way too short for that kind of song and it was bit repetitive. - I have no doubt that it is an album song. Circle Takes the Square – Same Shade as Concrete - Great song and great band. - I love how epic their songs get and this is one of their epic songs. Black Flag – Damaged 1 - This band is good too. I don’t own an album by them, but I have heard one. - Drums are annoying as heck because of repetitiveness. - Don’t have much else to say about the song except the guitar riff is catchy. The Misfits - Die, Die, My Darling - Love this song. - It is very catchy and The Misfits are a very influential punk band. - That was just a filler bullet, I have nothing else to say except for the fact that Danzig (I think this is him) has a great voice for punk. Dark Tranquility – Hedon - I like DT. I have all their albums. - One of their best songs with out a doubt, the guitar riffs are catchy and Mikael is great at death grunting. - I love the atmosphere DT creates with his song. Black Sabbath – Hole in the Sky - I love Black Sabbath, but this is one of their okay songs. - Catchy guitar riff and I love Ozzy’s vocals. Beyond here something went wrong with your station and I noticed your radio turned into my radio with the last two songs. So I refreshed the page. Sailboats – 2 - Boring and repetitive. - I liked the guitar riffs though. - Way too short for the genre. Comeback Kid – Defeated - The sound is too generic and sounds like a lot of other hardcore punk bands I have heard. - Vocals weren’t that bad though. Hot Water Music – Wayfarer - Cool opening riff, but this is sounds like generic punk. - Yeah it is nothing special. Indian Water – Orchard - Opens like a post-rock song. - Love the chaos of when the vocals kick in. - Too repetitive and not enough atmospherics for the repetitiveness to be acceptable. Suis La Lune – Parts of Emily - Sounds pretty similar to the screamo I heard before. - Vocals are very annoying. Pig Destroyer - Torquemada - I like Grindcore, but the one problem is song length. - Yeah this is way too short. Antioch Arrow – Angel’S Lawn - Too short. - Drums are the only thing not boring. Me and Him Call It Us – The Anticipation Is Killing Me - Pretty cool. - Love the brutality and when it slows down I love the ambience. Alexisonfire – Control - I have never understood the hype for this band. They are so generic it hurts. - Pretty much the only pleasing thing in the song is the lead singer harmonizing with the other vocalist. These Arms Are Snakes – Big News - Beginning reminds me too much of Wire. - Middle to end is fine, but it is nothing special. Pg. 99 – In Love with an Apparition - Not that bad, but it does sound a bit like some of the other stuff I have heard. - The best part of the song is when they build up to the climax. Besides that it sounds like the instruments were barely doing anything, and they didn’t even create a atmospheric effect. Explosions in the Sky – Remember Me as a Time of Day - Love these guys and this song. - It is absolutely beautiful, not their best, but it is good. - Great song to just sit and think. |
