G3 Tour
I found out about this by watching a video of Eric Johnson play "Manhattan" on YouTube. I found the video of the entire show by searching it on Google Video. The G3 tour began in 1996 with Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson and Steve Vai. Quite a powerhouse trio if you ask me.
I found the website. Here are the lineups for the past years that the tour has taken place: 1997 European Tour: Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Adrian Legg North American Tour: Joe Satriani, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Robert Fripp 1998 European Tour: Joe Satriani, Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth 2000 Single show as part of the Rhythm of Asia festival: Joe Satriani, Eric Johson, Steve Vai 2001 North American/Mexican Tour: Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, John Petrucci 2003 North American Tour: Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen 2004 North American Tour: Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Robert Fripp European Tour: (same) 2005 Japanese Tour: Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, John Petrucci 2006 Latin American Tour: Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Eric Johnson Australian Tour: Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Steve Vai The 2007 North American tour included Joe Satriani, John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert. Wish I could have seen it. It's basically just a tour started and run by Joe Satriani. Every year or two he invites two of the best guitar players in the world to join him on tour. The video of it that I watched was of the very first one. The jam at the end was really amazing. It's a demonstration of the utmost skill and technicality in terms of guitar playing. Anyone here get a chance to see this live? Or has anyone else watched any of the videos? I've see the videos for the '96 tour and the '03 tour. Know of any others? Discuss..

How'd I end up here to begin with? I don't know. Why do I start what I can't finish? Oh please, don't barrage me with questions to all those ugly answers. My ego's like my stomach- it keeps shitting what I feed it. But maybe I don't want to finish anything anymore.. maybe I can wait in bed 'til she comes home. and whispers.... Quote:
