Decemberists are great live, but I don't listen to them too much these days. They're definitely worth seeing, although it may not be as good at a festival. Everything I've just said can apply to The Flaming Lips, as well.
Oh, I just realized that Tortoise are playing as well, I missed that first time I read through it. I'd definitely see them as well. I'd probably check out David Cross at the comedy tent as well, mainly because I love Arrested Development. I find his stand up to be pretty hit and miss though. |

Woot! Bonnaroo '08 set list released.
I'm excited as hell but MB is going to be up in arms. "worst set list so far" i predict. Metallica, Pearl Jam, Kanye, Jack Johnson, Phil Lesh & Friends, Robert Plant and Allison Krauss, Racontouers (sp?), and more. I really am pumped. Anyone else thinking of going?

Coachello and Banaroo are looking weak this year. I mean there are good bands but it's not 200+ dollars good set list. If you do go you must see The Avett Brothers. They're gold.

Shocking, I happen to believe its one of the more solid bills in a bit:
Drive-by Truckers Iron & Wine Mastodon My Morning Jacket B.B. King Plant/Krauss Kanye Sigor Ros Tell me what is weak (missing) about that?

B. B. King is pretty sweet but the rest you listed aren't really my thing.
Lollapalooza has most of those plus Iggy & the Stooges Modest Mouse The Roots Patti Smith The Black Keys TV on the Radio ~Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Yo La Tengo Blonde Redhead ^^much more my kind of lineup |

The only band I like out of those is Iron & Wine.
The bands I'd see are Mason Jennings Battles Minus The Bear Iron & Wine The Avett Brothers Against Me! Two Gallants Broken Social Scene Rilo Kiley There's not enough that I'd be entertained from morning to night. I rather go to one of those "fests" where it's 15 bands, one day, in a hot sweaty room in the middle of August and I only spend 10 bucks and even better they're all my favorite bands.

There isn't a single band there I would pay to see.

If I was going I'd go to see Death Cab, Sigur Ros, Ben Folds, Iron and Wine, Broken Social Scene Tegan and Sara, Two Gallants, Fiery Furnaces and Rilo Kiley, though I saw RK and they were pretty disappointing, probably because the new stuff is crap. I have to agree that is pretty weak but I'd love to see Sigur Ros.
Either way its bound to be way better than Bumbershoot, last year had such a mediocre line-up I ended up getting rid of my tickets because it wasn't even worth the drive. This lineup is actually really similar to Coachella's thinking about it, though Coachella has Jens<3 |
