^^ i completely agree with that. It's harder to write good music to lyrics than it is to write good lyrics to music, well I guess it depends on your style, and your own personal creative process, actually it really depends on a lot of things.

every band and every person writes differently. some of my mates write music and then we get together and write lyrics. but when i write lyrics i get the melody in my head and kinda know what i want to go with it.

^ ya thats true, like I said, it really depends on your writing style, but i find it easier to write lyrics to music, everybody's different.

The problem I have is that I'm always worried my songs sound the same. But what I believe, is that if you go about writing songs with a different strategy, or being in a different setting, or writing in a mood you usually wouldn't write in, the songwriting experience will be different, and therefore the final outcome of your song will be different. So, try new things, experiment, and add some variety.
