dont completely count that out here >.>

Listen to Broken Wings.

Two things I immediately loved about that song. 1) the piano is my favorite instrument. I believe the instrument is perfect for beats and brings out the beauty of rap that is often lost with other instruments. 2) The cello in the background was also a subtle touch that i loved. My sister is a very talented cellist, and I grew up to really appreciate the sound. I think my foundation to music began with classical and dramatically expanded when I found rap.

His raps have a similar underground tone i've heard from atmosphere. but I love the story telling aspect to it as well..

That song is siick and i'll definately be listening to it plenty.. any other gems?

If you are looking for rap like that
try
Nas - Doo rags (trust me)
outkast - 13th Floor/Growing old

I think you'll enjoy it as well

what album is that from?

By Sage Francis I also like, Sea Lion, Crack Pipes, Inherited Scars, and Personal Journalist. The whole Personal Journals is really good.

Mos Def is also a really good rapper, Boogie Man Song is probably my favorite song by him. Its not on his myspace though.

On the rock note, check out Jeff Buckley, hes one of my favorite vocalists.

Hallelujah is my favorite song by him, you should also listen to Lover You Should've Come Over. I have no idea if you'll like him or not, but alot of people do.

And lastly, I have no idea if you'll like this either. Elliott Smith hes my favorite artist ever, hes mellow acoustic stuff.

I suggest Miss Misery followed by Between The Bars. Thirteen also, I didn't realize that was on there.
